Polly’s Been Busy

Polly has been busy with her work for the College of Optometrists just recently. In March, she gave a live Webinar lecture to over 1,000 optometrists nationwide upon the Interpretation of OCT retinal scans. Aves have been using OCT technology for over 6 years now and Polly spoke about how it has enabled her to improve her diagnostic skills – a real game changer after 30 years in practice! The lecture was so well received that Polly has been invited to do another one in December. In April, a film crew came to the practice to spend the day with Polly, making a film about management of children’s eye conditions in community practice. We had a great day, entirely due to the amazing children and their families who were kind enough to take the time to join us for the day. Huge thanks to Jake, Amber, Leo and Rebecca! Most recently, in June, Polly presented a lecture to Essex optometrists at their annual meeting, held at Writtle College in Chelmsford. Almost 100 optometrists and dispensing opticians form all over Essex attended to hear Polly speak on the subject of Demodex – a microscopic mite, which lives in our eyelids and lashes. It was certainly a lively subject for discussion!
